I remember seeing the advertising blitz on this movie when it was nearing release.
The popular scene was the insect humanoid alien being interrogated. The only thing that appealed to me, were the short clips of the mech combat, and the real world design approach to the main alien ship. I had no real interest in seeing this movie in the theaters until a number of friends recommended it.

Another home video cam movie!!! and a lead actor with a brilliantly horrible accent…
Not to mention more CGI bugs… What is it with hollywood and Startship Trooper bugs?
Hang me from the rafters with a noose!

Luckily only bits and pieces were shot with the hand cam, and the movie is interesting enough to district you away from the lead actor.
Structurally, I think the story was a bit weak, and the characters and plot never really developed. Gratuitous use of sci-fi, shoot’em up violence lessens its impact.

Worth a watch but not classified as good solid Sci-fi.
We’ll see what they turn up with part 2, which is obviously on the way with the cliffhanger ending.
Kudos for the ending scene… cute.

Entertaining. Would have liked to have seen more Alice in Wonderland, and the musical number was not climatic enough as a pivotal part in the movie.
