Sex and Death 101 definitely delivered - IN FACT FELLAS, this is a Guy flick in Chick flicks clothing!!
Remember that next time she drags you to the video store - bitch and moan, then rent this one “for her”.
I loved the premise of the all knowing all seeing secret -government operated?- computer that spits out the list for Roderick Blank (Simon Baker).
While the movie revolves around the hero having sex with all these women on his list, its really not a tits and ass movie like porkys or something you’d see on skin’a'max. Sex and death plays with the concept and brings you along for the fun.
I really have no complaints with this movie - the pace is good, everything flowed, the women were all very attractive.
Unfortunately, my copy of the DVD was really dirty and it skipped a lot, soooo I may be heading back to the video store soon for another copy. Not that its a 2 for one movie back to back viewings - but certainly worth a second more coherrent look on a clean DVD at some point…
Sex and Death 101 is about a guy Roderick Blank, who just a few days before his wedding receives an email with a list of about 140 names. The names turn out to be all the women hes ever slept with, and all the women he’s ever GOING to sleep with.
The list originated from a clandestine super computer, operated by three strange individuals who sort of oversee Roderick while this is taking place.
Roderick quickly becomes obsessed with the list, as he is instantly able to know if a woman will sleep with him just by asking her name. He proceedes to embark on a quest of sex, sleeping with as many women on the list as he can.
Meanwhile Winona Ryder plays Death Nell, a predatory serial killer - seducing men and sending them into comas. Her name is last on Richards list, and he soon becomes paniced when he realizes this, and realizes just a short time from when he received the list he’s facing the end of his life at her hands.
