Common History Of Sulaco

Welcome to The Shores of Sulaco, a coastal region of white sanded shores and lush green tropics. A peaceful, tranquil place that enjoys a beautiful climate year round. An area somewhat frozen in time where politics, individual vies for power, and ambitions for great wealth are all but non existant. A place where life is lived... and enjoyed. A place as near to paradise as one can find.

The region of Sulaco is shared by a number of races, but the civilized areas are dominated by three; Humans, Elves and Sulatians. Of these catagories, the Sulatians are most numerous followed by the humans and then the elves. While the three races are distinct in their own rights, and live to many extents by their own cutoms, they all seem to have a common history. An Ancient history shrouded in mystery and intrigue.

It is commonly recognized that long ago there were two great civilizations in Sulaco... A human population in the Great Mountain city of Grome, and a Sulatian population spread thorughout the entire region. However, many of the facts to this history are disputed... there are many gaps in written records, and many unanswered questions.

Today both the Human Ettics and Sulatians have little clarity of their exact origins and their past. The only thing that has survived the generations clearly are the strong individual traditions that both cultures carry.

All of the civilized native people of Sulaco enjoy friendly relations with one and another. Even strangers are generally accepted, although they are always watched with a weary eye. This is due in part to the fact that Sulaco attracts many wanderers from throughout the realm. These wanderers come both by Sea and the surrounding Jungles and have in more than one occassion brought harmful intentions.

Sulacos main civilized towns, Wel'Shar'Vo, Grome and Tacker City are all self governed. Wel'Shar'Vo is prodominatly Sulatian, Grome is Prodominaly Human Ettics, and Tacker City while mostly human, is a mix of all the races thorughout Sulaco (and for that matter the entire realm). While certain customs and laws are shared by each town, the three truly have a flavor all their own. While the towns of Sulaco are all developed (to their own degrees), Sulaco is not a trade region. The Goldbok Bay and the immediate areas are in such abundance of resources, the inhabitants need look no further than these borders to enjoy a full and rich lifestlye. The ship building capabilities are limited, and rarely are vessles created that can venture out into deep water. Mass travels to other areas, or the arrival of such large ships from other areas is an extreme rarity. As Sulaco is made up of indiviudal towns, not unified by a single king or even culture for that matter - each town and its inhabitants harvest and produce enough goods to be self efficient. This leads to a slower pace of progress as far as town growth, and a more relaxed lifestyle, which the inhabitants seem to enojy.

The pace of life in Sulaco has also all bit eliminated a class system among its people - the line between noble and commoner is fine at best.
