The Death Certificate I have been dishing out Death Certificates for some time. Some of my players would argue more often then I should. Interesting that the same few players make the argument... hmmm... In a perfect world a death certificate would be issued to every dead pc. But lets face it, it takes time to fill them out, and paper costs money. Not to mention, not every pc dies a noteworthy death... and some characters are better off forgotten. You know what I'm taking about - like that half orc, 2 handed fighting, kilt wearing, blue haired, australian accent speaking, named after a common kitchen product character you used to play... come on, admit it... Seriously though, Death Certificates are a great tool. I have some classics depicting some of the funniest pc deaths we ever came across. Besides the comic relief, they do offer a consistant and important reference for tracking details in the campaign. For particularly nice DM's you can even go back through your thick stack of Death Certificates, and try to analyze whats giving your players so much trouble... and then add a whole lot more of it to the adventures... The Certificate De Obitus - Obitus meaning Death in Latin - found below is a recent remake of the one I've been using for years. I just redid it, and haven't even had a chance to print it out myself yet. Don't forget to print it landscape people! Certificate Of Death |
